Game Specific Information
"Gotchas" for various games.
Cirqus Voltaire
This game has an unusual configuration with the speakers
mounted directly to the "light tub" behind the back glass. I would recommend
using a 3-1/2 inch speaker with an adapter plate when replacing the back box
speakers on this game; that information is included in the section covering
games with a plastic display panel. Trying to modify the light tub to
accommodate a larger speaker is very risky, and is not recommended.
The Ring
Master assembly protrudes quite a distance below the playfield, and may impact a
replacement cabinet speaker when the playfield is slid in to or out of the
cabinet. Check the vertical clearance carefully!
Creature from the Black Lagoon
This game has an unusual mounting location for the
cabinet speaker because of the hologram projection lamp; this precludes use of a larger speaker. You'll need to use a
6-1/2 inch woofer in this game.
Dr. Dude
Nearly all Dr. Dude games are based on the System 11 sound board; this guide is not
applicable to this game. (A limited number of Dr. Dude games were WPC-based;
those games could be upgraded using the information in this guide.)
Funhouse
Early production Funhouse games use the System 11 sound board; this guide is not
applicable to these games with the System 11 sound board.
Hurricane
Some Hurricane games may have an unusual wiring of the cabinet speaker; see
the WPC sound system information
section for specifics. When removing the display panel from this game you will
have to cut the black-yellow wire connected to P505 pin 2 (which connects to the
cabinet speaker).
Medieval Madness
This game has limited vertical clearance above the cabinet speaker; the total
clearance is approximately 3-3/4 inches between the top of the mounting block
and the bottom of the right troll carriage assembly. You'll need to use a woofer with
a mounting depth of less than 3-1/2 inch in this machine when using a 1/2 inch
mounting block (either the original or a replacement). Mounting the woofer directly to the
cabinet bottom panel will give you another 1/2 inch of vertical clearance.
Terminator 2
Some Terminator 2 games may have an unusual wiring of the cabinet speaker;
see the WPC sound system information
section for specifics. When removing the display panel from this game you will
have to cut the black-yellow wire connected to P505 pin 2 (which connects to the
cabinet speaker).
